Age and Fitness Level
For our camping tours the minimum age is 8 and for all other tours
a minimum age of 2 applies.
Children aged 8 years and over are welcome on our tour. Price
for Children aged 8-15.
All travellers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent
or legal guardian who will be responsible for their care.
Any packages that include dorm accommodation are not available
for children, however we can create a suitable package for families
upon request.
We have no upper age limit on our tours, although some trips can
be physically demanding.
For our camping tours, a real spirit of adventure and a medium
level of fitness is required as the tours are fast paced.
It is important to note that Central Australia experiences extreme
weather conditions during summer.
Participation is required from passengers on our camping tours
for things such as meal preparation and firewood collection (as
requested by guide).
What should I bring on tour? Day Tours
Travel voucher, water bottle (capacity 1.5 litres), strong
non-slip walking shoes, hat (wide brimmed is best), flynet,
sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, casual and comfortable clothing
(cool, light clothing is best in summer and warm clothing for winter),
travel pillow (longer day tours), swim wear & towel (West MacDonnell
Ranges day tours, during summer), cash for purchasing dot painting
directly from artists at sunset (Uluru day tours).
What should I bring on tour? Camping Tours
Travel voucher, 2 x 1.5 litres of water (per person), sleeping
bag (can be hired for $20/person, must be requested at time of
booking), strong non-slip walking shoes, hat (wide brimmed is
best), fly net, sunglasses, sunscreen, toiletries, torch
(flash light), swim wear(warmer months), towel, camera,
casual and comfortable clothing (cool, light clothing is best in
summer and warm clothing for winter), travel pillow, a small
overnight bag (please leave your luggage at your Alice Springs accommodation
due to space limitations on the minibus).
What should I bring on tour? 2 Day Tours
Travel voucher, water bottle (2 x 1.5 litre), strong non-slip
walking shoes, hat (wide brimmed is best), flynet, sunglasses,
sunscreen, camera, casual and comfortable clothing (cool,

Default Pickup Point:
The default pick up point is where we will meet you for your tour,
unless you or your travel agent requests an alternative location
(contact our Reservations team for more information). It is your
responsibility to contact us with your preferred pick up point well
ahead of departure. We do not take responsibility for missed tours
if we have not been advised of an alternative in advance and you
are not at the default location on time.
Flights:
We recommend guests arrive on the Jetstar or Virgin Australia
flights into Ayers Rock.
*Clients joining at Ayers Rock airport or resort will do so after
lunch and therefore is not included.
Please be dressed in comfortable walking clothing and footwear,
have a water bottle and hat with sunscreen when boarding tour at
Ayers Rock Resort or airport.
Please ensure you have had lunch prior to your collection as we
will be travelling straight to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to
start the afternoon's sightseeing.
What are the departure and arrival times?
This may vary from trip to trip so please refer to your tour quote
Alice Springs pick-ups: approximately 5:45am.
Ayers Rock Resort pick-ups: Outback Pioneer Lodge approximately
1:15pm Oct-Mar & 1:30pm Apr-Sep
Flights:
Ayers Rock Airport pick-ups: approximately 1pm Oct-Mar & 2pm Apr-Sep
3 Day Camping Trip: Between 1 April and October, for pick-ups from
Outback Pioneer Hotel or Ayers Rock Airport, lunch is not included.
As soon as passengers are picked up, the tour will go straight to
the National Park.
Return:
We return to Alice Springs at approximately 5:30pm on thelast
day.
If you have booked an Ayers Rock finish, you will arrive at approximately
5:30pm.
Whilst we always aim to get you to the airport on time, delays
which are out of our hands may occur. These may include, but not
limited to; Traffic delays, road closures, vehicle breakdowns and
accidents. Wayoutback will not be liable or responsible for any
missed fights and always recommend travel insurance.
Luggage
Due to limited space on the vehicle please restrict luggage to
a day pack and one soft overnight bag/backpack (maximum 10kg). Excess
luggage should be stored at your Alice Springs accommodation. If
commencing at Ayers Rock please ensure you have an overnight bag/backpack
with the items you require for the 2 days packed inside as your
large luggage will be stored in the vehicle and not accessible during
the safari.
Tour must be reconfirmed 48 hours prior to departure:
Safaris must be reconfirmed 48 hours prior to departure to confirm
pick-up location and time by phone direct with the tour operator
- (Details of the tour operator is on your E-Ticket).
Travel Insurance is highly recommended:
Emu Run Experience recommends that all travellers take out travel
insurance to protect you from costs of illness, injury and cancellation
fees.
Travel insurance is compulsory for all international travellers
and should be taken out at the time of booking.
We recommend Australian citizens take out a domestic travel insurance
policy which covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment
and loss of luggage and personal effects.
However, travellers may be expected to sign a waiver before commencing
their tour acknowledging that they are aware of the increased risks
associated with Adventure Travel and that they understand that the
operator will not be held responsible for any loss, damage, delay,
accident or injury sustained whilst on tour. (please see our terms
for further information)
Authority on Tour
Each of our tours is run by a tour guide who will be in charge
of making decisions relating to the safety and well-being of the
group. Any passengers who do not comply with the tour guides decisions
or act in a manner where they may interfere with the safety or well-being
of others in the group may be asked to leave the tour. No refund
will be given under these circumstances.
Acceptance of Risk
While on tour you will be visiting places where the dangers and
challenges will be greater than those present in daily lives. There
may be a higher degree of personal risk due to participation on
the tour. You acknowledge and accept that your decision to travel
on our tour is made in light of consideration of this and you are
aware of the personal risks involved.
Complaints and Cliams
Please inform your tour guide if you have a complaint about your
trip so that they have the opportunity to rectify the matter. If
the matter is not resolved, please contact us in writing after your
tour.
Dietary Requirements and on Tour Participation: Special
Dietary requirements and allergies
Our menu is designed for both carnivores and vegetarians. If you
are have any special dietary needs or allergies, please contact
us to discuss this at time of booking as you may need to provide
your own supplementary food/ snacks depending on your specific dietary
need or allergy. If you have any allergies, please carry the necessary
medication. Many dietary requirements are catered for in our standard
menus. . Our safaris are active participation based tours. We rely
on the good will of all passengers to make them a success.
This includes your assistance in the preparation of meals, washing
up, gathering firewood and loading/unloading vehicles.

We provide healthy, quality meals on our tours. We are able to cater
for one of the following special dietary requests upon request:
vegetarian, gluten free or dairy free. If you have a food allergy
(e.g. peanuts) please advise at the time of booking and carry any
necessary medication with you on tour.

get your heart rate up and extended periods in the elements.

and some long (and challenging) walks. A high level of fitness required.
5 out of 5: The hardest of the hardcore. Long trips to remote destinations
with limited facilities. Excellent health and fitness is essential.
