Tour Itinerary: 3 Day Uluru Camping Tour
Day 1: Alice Springs to Kata Tjuta & Uluru Sunset
Starting in Alice Springs, we continue on to the permanent campsite
at Yulara for lunch before embarking to explore the 36 domes of
Kata Tjuta. Here, we get up close to this ancient geological formation
during an afternoon hike. The perfect end to a remarkable day is
watching the Rocks rich colours change against a blazing Red Centre
sunset. Depending on your mood you can choose to sleep in a permanent
4 share safari tent (bunk beds) or in a swag (Aussie bedroll) under
millions of outback stars. Optional upgrade to twin tents available
at $75/person per tour twin tent upgrade price includes sleeping
bag and pillow. (L,D)

Day 2: Uluru to Kings Canyon
Enjoy a glorious sunrise with a walk around the base of Uluru. Deepen
your understanding of the land and the Mala people during a walk
with your tour guide. Theres an opportunity to purchase Aboriginal
arts and crafts at the Cultural Centre before travelling to our
exclusive campsite in Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon). You
can choose tonight to sleep in a swag (Aussie bedroll) under millions
of outback stars or in one of our permanent 4 share safari tents
(bunk beds). Optional upgrade to twin tents available at $75/person
per tour twin tent upgrade price includes sleeping bag and pillow.

Day 3: Kings Canyon to Alice Springs
Discover the Lost City and the Garden of Eden on a 6km hike in Kings
Canyon. Admire and explore the towering walls and crevices of Watarrka
National Park. The photo opportunities are endless in Kings Canyon
so be sure to bring your camera. At the end of the trek its time
to refuel with a bite to eat before making the journey back to the
remote centre of Alice Springs. (B,L) Or if you choose to finish
the tour in Ayers Rock, you will be transferred from Kings Canyon
Resort to Ayers Rock Resort after lunch. Please note that this service
must be requested at the time of booking, and will incur an additional
charge of $125 per adult / $65 per child.

Maximum Passengers 24 - We have a maximum of 24 passengers
on camping tours. Participation is required for passengers on our
camping tours for things such as meal preparation and firewood collection
(as requested by the guide).

Tour Departs:
Alice Springs pick-ups: approximately 5:45am.
Ayers Rock Resort pick-ups: Outback Pioneer Lodge approximately
1:15pm Oct-Mar & 1:30pm Apr-Sep
Ayers Rock Airport pick-ups: approximately 1pm Oct-Mar & 2pm Apr-Sep
PLEASE NOTE: Between 1 April and 30 October, for pick-ups from Outback
Pioneer Hotel or Ayers Rock Airport, lunch is not included. As soon
as passengers are picked up, the tour will go straight to the National
Park.
Tour Finishes:
We return to Alice Springs at approximately 5:30pm on the third
day. If you have booked an Ayers Rock finish, you will arrive at
approximately 5:30pm.
What should I bring on tour?
Travel voucher, 2 x 1.5 litres of water (per person), sleeping
bag (can be hired for $20/person), strong non-slip walking shoes,
hat (wide brimmed is best), fly net, sunglasses, sunscreen,
toiletries, torch (flashlight), towel, camera, casual
and comfortable clothing (cool, light clothing is best in summer
and warm clothing for winter), travel pillow, a small overnight
bag (please leave your luggage at your Alice Springs accommodation
due to space limitations on the mini-bus).

What fitness level is required? A real spirit of adventure and
a medium level of fitness is required. There is a lot to see over
the 3 days and this tour can be fast paced at times. It is important
to note that Central Australia experiences extreme weather conditions
during summer. Participation is required for passengers on our camping
tours for things such as meal preparation and firewood collection
(as requested by the guide).

Can I bring my family? Yes. Children aged 8 years and over are
welcome on our tour. Price for Children aged 8-15 is from $415.
All travellers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent
or legal guardian who will be responsible for their care.

Sleeping Bags:
If you join one of our camping tours you will need a sleeping
bag regardless of whether you decide to sleep in a permanent 4 share
safari tent (bunk beds) or in a swag (Aussie bedroll). Sleeping
bag hire is available on request at a charge of $20 per person.
Please request this at the time of booking.
What is a swag?
A swag is made from strong canvas, sewn like a large sleeping
bag with a comfortable sponge mattress inside providing warmth,
comfort and security. You sleep in your sleeping bag inside the
swag so its much warmer than a tent!
Travel Insurance
Emu Run Experience recommends that all travellers take out travel
insurance to protect you and should be taken out at the time of
booking. We recommend Australian citizens take out a domestic travel
insurance policy which covers personal liability, cancellation,
curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.
