Is this trip right for you?
You'll spend some nights of the trip sleeping in outback camping grounds. While conditions can be basic and facilities are minimal, this is all part of the adventure. You'll need to pitch in with preparing meals and cleaning.
This trip requires a moderate level of fitness as it involves a lot of walking, allowing you to truly enjoy the surrounding nature. Some hikes are longer and more challenging than others.
Please bring sturdy, comfortable walking shoes and comfortable clothing.

Our trips generally finish early evening. We recommend booking one night post accommodation in your end city and planning onward travel for the following day.

Corroboree Billabong Cruise


Day 1: Kakadu National Park and Ubirr
Theres a lot to the Northern Territory beyond its iconic red rock and dust its also a place full of water and wildlife. Start today by entering the lands of a classic Aussie animal the saltwater crocodile. After a pickup from the accommodation, head to Corroboree Billabong part of the Mary River wetlands. See how many you can spot on a wildlife cruise it shouldnt be hard, the species found here is the biggest in the world. Afterwards its on towards Kakadu National Park, stopping by the bank of East Alligator River for a picnic lunch and some croc and flying fox spotting. Next, make a stop at one of the most unforgettable art galleries in the world Ubirr. Learn about the Indigenous groups that have lived here for more than 50,000 years with a viewing of its ancient rock paintings. Your guide will explain the cultural significance of this artwork before we clamber up a rocky escarpment for 360-degree views across the Nardab floodplain and Arnhemland. Tonight well camp in an exclusive safari camp at Garnamarr at the base of the escarpment and within the National Park. This is real Outback camping zipping yourself up in a swag. Its like your own personal sleeping bag and tent in one handy roll.

Day 2: Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls
Rambling around the Outback in a 4WD it doesnt get much more Aussie than that. Thats exactly what well do after breakfast this morning as we drive to Twin Falls, surely one of this trips highlights. Well stretch the legs with a challenging and memorable walk to the top of the escarpment. The climb up has a double reward pretty spectacular views over the gorge and the chance to cool off in the pools and waterways away from any crowds. Well then wind our way down to Jim Jim Creek and relax in a shady spot for lunch. Todays not short on great views next well take a short climb up to Budjimi Lookout for views across the ancient Arnhemland escarpment. After lunch, take a 1-kilometre walk through monsoonal vine forest to the base of Jim Jim Falls and soak up the views of another of Kakadus natural wonders. Spend the afternoon swimming and relaxing on the beach, before making the drive to our private safari camp at Mardugal. The surrounds are perfect bush and a sky full of stars. Theres only one way to end a day like this a Great Aussie BBQ with an opportunity to try our taste plate of Crocodile, Buffalo and Kangaroo.

Day 3: Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) and back to Darwin
Well start early today and get a better understanding of the local Aboriginal people of Kakadu with a visit to the Warradjan Cultural Centre. Then weve saved one of the best gorges until last Maguk (Barramundi Gorge). A 1-kilometre walk through towering paperbarks is rewarded with a dip in perfect plunge pools. Next its time to turn tail and head back towards Darwin but not before one last look at Kakadus gems. Drive along the old Jim Jim road for a real bush experience, stopping at White Lily billabong, which is dotted with lilies and packed with bird-life. Take in your last view of Australias largest national park, then return to Darwin, arriving back around 5:30.
